DANCE STYLE: MUSICAL THEATER, BROADWAY & THEATER JAZZ

 

Josh is originally from Detroit MI, where he grew up at his mothers dance school, attended Tremaine Dance Conventions every year, and was awarded Senior Dancer of The Year. He spent his summers in Los Angeles at the Tremaine Dance Center before moving to New York City to pursue his dream of dancing on Broadway, which came true when he was cast in the Original Broadway company of HAIRSPRAY!

Josh now works internationally as a director and choreographer for Broadway, Television and Film. He is the Emmy Award-winning choreographer for NBC’s musical drama SMASH, and received a Tony nomination as well as the Astaire Award for his choreography of the Broadway revival of ON THE TOWN. He also choreographed the Broadway musical CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY, produced by Warner Brothers, as well as the Broadway revival of GIGI starring Vanessa Hudgens. Josh directed and choreographed the New York premiere of the revival of SMOKEY JOE’S CAFÉ, and SWEET CHARITY starring Sutton Foster, winning the prestigious Chita Rivera Award for excellence in choreography. Josh choreographed multiple episodes of Fox’s SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE, but his favorite experience was choreographing The Avengers for the Marvel/Disney TV series HAWKEYE.
